You flatter me Dan
That's actually how i came across this site - i hadn't been to CGS in a hundred years and i was obviously very bored - i typed 'cgshock' into google and this was the second highest link. ![]() Not a lot of people ever cared much for Oleg, me being one of the more outspoken back in the day, i'm surprised it took people so long to ditch the place. So who's all here?

Me, BigD, KFJ, |SS|, and Samus are about all you'll remember from the old days that are actually somewhat active. A lot of people came here very early when there wasn't an auto-login and I guess never really settled.
I'm trying to get this site out there but it's very hard to get new members. I've tried many things, including hefty advertising, upload capabilities of over 50 megs in the download section, and even once had a Media section. (that was BETA for awhile but is now still being worked on) The decline of CGShock should soon change all that. I hope. ![]() |

Yeah, it's not always easy getting new members to a site and keeping them there - i found that kind of a mixed blessing with Eden and I having to shut down BioFear - we all woulda ended up ditching the place eventually no doubt.
I think there's a hundred reasons for something like this place no picking up like it should, you just gotta find ways around it. Whats your system here? Is this PHP-Nuke? What avenues were you advertising in? And haha, yeah, out of those five, only you and BigD do i actually have an attributed personality too. Where's Dark? ![]()

I've tried working with several portals in the past, and though the convenience factor is nice - you sacrifice flexibility for it a lot.
When i finally end up creating a proper website (My [signature] points to my webspace, it's just my blog right now and alas, i don't have a button made up for it) i'm gonna have to try and build it from the ground up. It makes it look better/more professional plus you can do everything exactly how you like it. I have a vBulletin thats just sitting around going to waste. Who's your host?

Surpass hosting. They go down every once and awhile but that's every host nowadays. It isn't dedicated. Don't have the money for something like that.
![]() And I didn't realize your image was a link. Nice blog! It's very neat and tidy. Unlike the other garbage I see around thesedays. Myspace is a good example of what's out there. |
