Came across that wonderful article recently. Can't say I'm surprised. Well, I am, actually. Considering the frequency with which I come across idiots on the road, I'm surprised that more people wouldn't fail a driving test right now. Then again, I'm in Tennessee, so...that really says it all. I'll make a note never to move to any of the states lower on the list.

You know what I find pretty sad, is that I don't even have my driver's license yet (I will in the next...oh, less than a year, hopefully), yet I still know most of the traffic laws better than a lot of people on the roads around here. Like I can sit in the car and point out what other people on the road are doing wrong -- and this is when I haven't read the drivers' manual in a few years!
I suppose that means that when I do get my license, I'll just be that much more prepared. ![]() Also! I notice as well that most of the states at the top of that list don't have very dense populations... Kind of makes me wonder. Last edited by orclev : 11-17-2007 at 01:21 AM. |

The biggest problem is, at least where I am, is you lose points and receive instant fails during your road test for 'not being aggressive enough', which explains why my city is consistently ranked amongst the worst to drive in in all of Canada.

broken windows, and resting eyes. 'can you tell us what happened here?' they finally got sick of it all, they just gave up on accepting fate. that was the loophole, they found the achilles heel and managed to strike it down. at the feet of the ruins is a dormant structure. dormant but breathing, still breathing. the wind sweeps through its hallways, echoing at the establishment of their caretakers. an exhaltation of cold premonition. |

Well that's always nice to hear. Great for inspiration for long road trips through rigorous traffic and highway. Seriously though, I just passed my final road test a couple months ago, so I'm in the clear. You're all idiots-- not me.
By the way, there's this new law in Ontario Canada that I thought was somewhat related and so now I'm telling you it. If you are caught driving 50 km over the speed limit, your car is immediately impounded and your license revoked and you are fined a considerable amount. Near 2k I believe. Believe me, it may be cruel, but I've spoken to some of the most heartless bastards out there and, as massive as their balls are, they have no intent to ever speed that high ever again. I think it works. ![]() |

Meh, people are generally idiots, especially on the road. Although it's bad, at least most of them make sure to care about themselves...which results in fewer crashes due to incompetence then you'd think...
I'm now 1 and a half years on the road as a fully licensed driver, and I'm still conscious about the laws. There are a lot of times I need to tell my dad that he's doing something wrong, and he shrugs it off with "Yeah, that's just a guideline". Stop signs are not a guideline... Quote:
