XD I luff you, Dan.
... alright. You know what the movie's about, right? It's about a guy named Walter Sparrow who finds a book in a book store... that seems to be an odd metaphor for his life. XD In the book, the number 23 drives a man insane... ... and Walter Sparrow begins to be driven insane by the number as well! XDDDD And so Walter goes to find the author of the book in hopes of finding out the meaning of the number. At the end... the TOTALLY UNEXPECTED TWIST! "Who wrote the book?! WHO?! Was it YOU, Agatha?! WAS IT YOU!?" "No, Walter." "WHO, THEN!?" "You did. You wrote the book, Walter." *look of shock* ... I burst out laughing in the middle of the theater. It was the most cliche thing I'd ever heard. Holy. Crap. Poor Sea Monster looked over at me in horror. "Why are you laughing?!" Am I wrong in finding that hysterically stupid? |

Basically.
I dunno, though... SM really liked it, so it might also just be a personal taste thing. I'm exceptionally easy to scare, and I felt no thrills at all in the midst of this so-called thriller. I found it really predictable, though I DID think the opening credit sequence was really well done. ... I also liked some of the images, like "Suicide Blonde" hitting the ground with a crunch, from the third story. I also, wierdly enough, thought the first sex scene between Detective Fingerling and "Italian Seductress" was really prettily and artfully done. ... so... good images. Dreadful movie. See it if you're feeling masochistic, or if you think you're the type to find it interesting. |

Sounds like you know what you're talking about. I'll take your word for it unless Seamonster has some strong response.
Seamonster! Where are you? ![]() |

Once he's done watching The Machinist (OMFG BEST MOVIE ABOUT PARANOIA EVER JSZUSFHSJKFG CHRIST), I'll send him here. Once he knows what a REAL paranoia movie is like, maybe he'll change his ways...
Or I'll hack his account and post in his name. "um spadz is t3h coolst o 23 suxX0rz spads iz fra mor thot prvkng tehn taht movis omg" Seriously, whatever it takes. |

From the trailer it looks corny, but you never know till you watch it. I think Jim Carey should do another Ace Ventura.

XD It really is that corny.
Son: "Wait... we live at 1130 West Avenue..... 1 + 1... 2... and 3.... Dad, that's 23!" Walter: *bursts into kitchen.* "MY GOD!!" Seriously. It never really explained how 23 was KILLING him... it really didn't. I wanna know how his birthday adding up to 23 caused him to murder a sorority girl. *shrug* |
